  • File a claim with your insurance agent: Confirm with your insurance agent that you’ll need a replacement vehicle from Enterprise.
  • Confirm your rental booking through your insurance: In most cases, your insurance agency will help you book a vehicle or put you in touch with Enterprise to do so. Your insurance company should also confirm billing details at this time. Many insurance companies will have Enterprise bill them directly, reducing the hassle for you.

Rental reimbursement insurance pays for the cost of a rental while your vehicle is repaired after an accident. It typically costs about the same as renting a car for just one day

After an accident, you have a few options to cover your rental car expenses with Enterprise Rent-a-Car:

  • If your insurance policy includes “loss of use” coverage, it can assist in covering your rental costs, typically up to daily and total policy limits.
  • If you’re not at fault in the accident, you can discuss your rental needs with the insurance adjuster, who can advise you on whether the claim includes rental coverage.
  • If you can provide documentation of the accident, proof of insurance, and are not filing a claim, you may be eligible for our lower insurance rates, allowing you to enjoy savings while still adhering to standard rental qualifications.

If the daily amount is flat (eg $40), any vehicle you select under that should include the rate and tax of the rental car if you want to avoid paying part of the rental. For example a $40/1200 policy would cover rate and tax on a rental up to $40 a day for up to $1200. Enterprise has special rates for insurance partners which vary by market.

What should I do if I get in an accident in a rental car?

If you are in an accident, your safety is most important. Please call 911 or the local authorities for assistance and file a police report. Then call Roadside Assistance at 1-800-307-6666, available 24 hours a day, to report the incident. We will file a damage report and set up tow services for the damaged vehicle if it is no longer drivable.
